Kul or jujube is widely available in Bengal in the later half of the winter seasoon. Kuler achar/jujube pickle becomes an integral part of our meals and is used as a accompanying relish or a palette cleanser after the meal. This is sweetish, tangy and aromatic. Surprise our friends and family with this traditional achar !

Ingredients:

  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Akher gur / jaggery - 400 gms
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  • pinch of salt
  • Dried red chilli - 3-4
  • Fenegreek seeds - 1 tsp
  • Topa kul/ boroi - 250 gms
  • kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds- 1 tbsp
