Chana Masala or savoury chickpeas curry is a popular Punjabi dish. It is loaded with flavours and a bit spicy. This has high nutritional value as well. This curry tastes heavenly with bhatura and hence, chole bhatura is considered to be a complete dish in itself. It also goes well with other Indian breads like phulkas, parathas and naan.
Ingredients:
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chana/ kabuli chana - 200 gms
- Onion Paste - 2 medium onion
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1/4 th tsp
- Chana masala powder - 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Tomato paste - 1 small bowl (1 large tomato)
Whole garam masala:
- Baking powder - 1/4 th tsp
- cloves - 2-3
- cinamon stick - 1/2 inch
- Black pepper corns - 3-4
- Mustard oil - 2-3 tbsp
- Salt as per taste
- cardamoms - 2-3
