Even though Kalkand finds it's pride of place in Bengal's exotic range of chhena/cottage cheese based sweets, it's origin can be traced back to Alwar in Rajasthan and made it's way to Bengal via Jhumri Talaiya. Made of cottage cheese, condensed milk and temperd with Elaichi or cardamom, it's sweet, soft and grainy texture leaves you craving for more.
Ingredients:
- Full fat milk- 1 ltr
- Condensed milk - 2 tbsp
- Home made chenna/ cottage cheese - 600gms
- Sugar - 3 tbsp
- ghee -1 tsp
- Chopped nuts - 3 tbsp
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
