CHOCOLATE CHIP NUT BLONDIE BROWNIES with a scrumptious cake/cookie like texture!! Makes an 8" by 8" square pan!! Basic ingredients!! Simple to make!!
CHOCOLATE CHIP NUTTY BLONDIE BROWNIES
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Lightly butter and flour an 8" by 8" baking dish. Set aside.
- 1-1/4 cups (packed) light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or substitute with milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (1 stick/8 tablespoons) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped or substitute with your favorite salted or unsalted nuts
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- In a medium bowl add flour, salt, and baking soda. Whisk 15 seconds. Set aside.
- Melt butter in medium sauce pan over low-heat. Or microwave, stirring every 10 seconds, until butter is just melted.
- Whisk brown sugar into melted butter. Cool for 2-3 minutes.
- Whisk eggs and vanilla together. Add to brown sugar mixture. Whisk for 30 seconds until smooth.
- Stir in flour mixture, then half of nuts and chocolate chips.
- Pour into prepared baking pan. Sprinkle remaining nuts evenly on top. Tap pan on flat surface twice to settle nuts and remove any air bubbles.
- Bake on the middle rack for 30 minutes.
- Add remaining chocolate chips to the top of warm brownies. Use folk to spread melted chocolate chip to create design, if desire.
- Cool. Cut into 16 squares. Serve.
TIPS: Wrap brownie squares individually with plastic wrap. Place in freezer bags and freeze up to 3 months.
