CREAMY FRUIT SALAD...a Holiday favorite!! Perfectly delicious side dish for your Thanksgiving day feast, or not!! Prepare the day before for ultimate flavor!! Recipe below...
CREAMY FRUIT SALAD
- 1/8 teaspoon salt, optional
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped. Substitute with pecans. Optional.
- 3 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed, dried, and chopped. Substitute with frozen cranberries
- 1 can (20-ounces) unsweetened crushed pineapple, drained
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- In a large bowl add first 6 ingredients. Cover. Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.
- To serve, beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold whipped cream and walnuts into cranberry mixture.
- Add to serving bowl. Garnish top with whole cranberries and chopped walnuts, optional.
- Keep covered and chilled before serving.
