~Palette Knife Buttercream Cake~

Hey guys! First time kong gumamit ng palette knife set to decorate a cake and this buttercream painting technique. This is moist chocolate cake and chocolate ganache for a sturdy cake base and swiss meringue buttercream to decorate. Sobrang enjoy siya gawin dahil you can play with colors and ang astig ng final look. Edible art ika nga. Don't forget to tag us if you're making this design! Have fun!

~Swiss Meringue Buttercream~:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 bars of 225g unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 egg whites
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Procedure:

  1. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Set aside the yolks properly in the fridge for later use (make flan or custard)
  2. Combine eg whites and sugar in a heatproof bowl and whisk over a double broiler set on low until all the sugars dissolve
  3. Beat the egg white sugar mixture using a whisk attachment until cool. Slowly add all the butter and continue beating until it all comes together soft and smooth. Lastly add the vanilla for flavor

~Gel Food Colors Used~:

  • * Royal blue
  • * Red Red
  • * Sunset orange
  • * Lemon Yellow
  • * Moss green
  • * Buckeye Brown
  • * Black
  • * White
