Step by step recipe of Semolina/Sooji cake made without any flour or eggs. This soft and spongy Rava cake is best to have with tea or coffee. It is light and fluffy in texture.
You can do a lot of variation to this fabulous cake recipe. Like, add dry fruits instead of tutti frutti and instead of vanilla essence, cardamom powder can be used for flavor. Sugar quantity can be adjusted as per individual preference.
If you do not have an oven, do not worry! Because you can make this cake on a stovetop with ease. All you need is a greased pan. Its lid should fit the pan well. If there is any vent hole in the pan lid, just block it with dough so air cannot escape while baking. Keep the burner flame "VERY LOW" while baking. By following these instructions, you can easily bake this versatile cake in a jiffy.
Ingredients:
- Tutti frutti - 1/4 cup OR Chopped nuts - 1/4 cup (few for garnishing)
- Fresh curd (Dahi) - 1/2 cup
- Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Semolina - 1 cup(156 g)
- Milk (at room temp) - 1/4 cup
- Sugar - 1/3 cup
- Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- Vanilla essence - 1 tsp OR Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 1/4 cup
