Upma | Layered Upma | Upma recipe | Easy Upma Recipe For Breakfast


Upma is very easy and healthy dish. I've given new twist to the regular upma. Do try and share your experience in the comment section below.


  • Peas 2 tbs
  • Coriander leaves
  • Water
  • Onions 2 med
  • Beatroot 1
  • Udad and Chana dal 1 tbs
  • Ginger and green chilly paste 1 tbs
  • Salt as per taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Semolina/Rava 150 grams
  • Wray seeds/ Rai 1 tbs
  • Carrot 1
  • Oil 2 tbs


  1. Roast semolina/rava for 5 minutes
  2. Keep it aside
  3. Saute all the veggies and divide it into 2 parts
  4. Add 1.5 glass of water to one part of veggies and when it starts boiling, add hald of rava or semolina to it
  5. Stir continuously and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. For another upma, add 1 grated beatroot in the water and let it boil
  7. Repeat the same procedure with beatroot water for another half of veggies and semolina
  8. For serving, grease a bowl with oil or ghee and make layers of both upmas and gently flip it in serving plate
