Double Chocolate Easter Cake - Easy to make Showstopper!

This is my really simple recipe for a delicious fudgey chocolate layer cake. Perfect for any occasion, this cake is moist, rich and paired with a silky smooth chocolate buttercream with nutella, you'll be impressed with both the taste and just how easy it was to throw together!

I have been away for a while, I had a baby and pregnancy and raising a newborn was my priority so I haven't uploaded any videos in quite a while. I'm now trying to share with you some of the baking I've been doing so please check out my videos to see how I made this yummy double chocolate cake.

TO MAKE THIS CAKE, YOU WILL NEED:

CAKE:

DRY:

  • 3/4 CUPS COCOA POWDER
  • 1 + 3/4 CUPS SELF RAISING FLOUR
  • PINCH SALT
  • 1 CUP GOLDEN CASTER SUGAR/BROWN SUGAR
  • 3/4 CUPS WHITE SUGAR

WET:

  • 3 MEDIUM OR 2 LARGE EGGS
  • 1/4 CUP CREAM
  • 1 TABLESPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 1/2 CUP OIL (ANY)
  • 1 CUP COFFEE (HOT)
  • 1 CUP BUTTER MILK

FROSTING:

  • 4 CUPS ICING SUGAR
  • 2 8 INCH PANS LINED WITH FOIL
  • 1/4 CUP DOUBLE CREAM
  • 1 + 1/4 CUPS BUTTER OR MARGARINE
  • 1/2 CUP CHOCOLATE SPREAD
  • APPROX MEASUREMENTS

SELECTION OF EGGS TO DECORATE

FUDGE OR OTHER DECORATIVE ITEMS

BAKE AT 170C (325F/GM3) FOR 40 MINUTES
