Scrumptious GERMAN PANCAKES served with a homemade Syrup!! A hot and puffy perfectly delicious crowdpleaser/weekend dish for breakfast or brunch. Easy to make!! Recipe below...
GERMAN PANCAKE W/ Homemade SYRUP
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 6 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
HOMEMADE SYRUP:
- 1 tablespoon dark corn syrup or light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- Fresh blueberries, optional
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3-4 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup butter, cuber
- Add 2 tablespoons of butter into a 13x9-inch baking pan. Melt in preheat oven just until butter has melted, about 1-2 minutes. Tilt dish until bottom and sides are well coated.
- Add eggs, milk, salt, and flour in a blended; process just until smooth. About 10-15 seconds.
- Add egg mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake, uncovered, until puffed and golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add remaining butter, granulated sugar, buttermilk, corn syrup and baking soda in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Whisk gently for 7 minutes. Remove from heat. Whisk in vanilla.
- Remove pancake from oven. Drizzle syrup over top.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, or whatever else you can think of.
TIP: BEST served while piping hot and puffy from the oven.
