SPINACH CHEESE SWIRLS

(Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.)

  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup shredded Jack Cheese
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 (10 OZ) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and liquid squeezed out (use hands)
  • 1 box PEPPERIDGE FARM puff pastry, thaw according to box instructions
  1. On a lightly floured surface, unfold 1 (one) pastry sheet. Using a rolling pin gently roll pastry until dough is smooth and even.
  2. In a small bowl add cheeses, sliced green onion, and garlic powder. Toss well. Set aside.
  3. Thaw spinach and squeeze (using hands) as much liquid out of spinach. Set aside.
  4. Whisk egg and water together. Using a pastry brush apply a thin layer of egg mixture to the top of prepared pastry dough. Add cheese mixture evenly on top of pastry dough. Top with an even layer of the prepared chopped spinach.
  5. Starting at one of the small ends, of puffed pastry, begin to roll dough up into a log shape. With a sharp knife cut pastry log in half. Each half will make 10 -1/4" pinwheels. Add slice pinwheels on cookie sheet, lined with parachment paper, or oiled well. Bruch each pinwheel with egg mixture.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Cool on serving rack. Serve immediately or store cooled SPINACH CHEESE SWIRLS in airtight container, in refrigerator up to three (3) day. Maybe frozen up to three (3) months.
