Mimic RED LOBSTER CHADDER CHEESE BISCUITS

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup shortening, butter flavor
  1. In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  2. Cut shortening into dry ingredients, blend well. Add cheddar cheese and blend well.
  3. Make a well in the middle of shortening mixture. Add buttermilk and mix until all ingredient a well combine.
  4. Using a spoon, drop biscuit dough onto cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 8-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Topping for baked Biscuits:

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes

Brush each biscuit with butter mixture after removing from oven.

Makes 10-12 biscuits

Serve immediately.

Warm biscuits in microwave for 5 second at a time.

Biscuits may also be warmed in a preheat 250 degree oven, tightly wrapped in foil, for 15-20 minutes.
