Puto is a steamed cake traditionally made with ground rice but can also be made with cake flour or all purpose flour. Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large egg whites
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/8 cup evaporated milk
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 2 cups all purpose flour
Steam on low heat for 8 minutes then add cheese topping and steam again for another 8 minutes until the cheese has melted. Enjoy your homemade Puto!
