It is very soft and fluffy with a little sweetness that you can balance with cheese or salted egg topping.


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/8 cup evaporated milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 cups all purpose flour

Steam on low heat for 8 minutes then add cheese topping and steam again for another 8 minutes until the cheese has melted. Enjoy your homemade Puto!
