Potato and Peas peel

Ingredients:

  • Peel of 500 gms of peas, inside cover removed and the peel chopped
  • 1/3rd tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1" piece of ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1/4th tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 large sized onion finely chopped
  • 2 large sized potatoes washed, Peeled and diced
  • 3/4th tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 green chillies sliced
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds. Once they stop crackling, add asafoetida, mix and add green chillies. Cook for half a min, then add onions.
  2. Once onions turn pink, add ginger and cook till raw smell goes away. Add potatoes and turmeric, mix, cover and cook on low flame for 2-3 mins.
  3. Remove cover, add peel and salt. Mix, cover and cook till potatoes are 3/4th done, stirring Occasionally. Remove cover and add rest of the spices. Mix, cover and cook till completely done.
  4. Turn off the flame, Dish out and serve with hot paranthis or phulkas.
