Raw Banana Curry fish Fillet style
Ingredients:
- 2 raw bananas washed and peeled
For Marination:
- 4 green chillies
- 1 pod of Garlic
- 3/4th" piece of ginger
- 3/4th tsp Coriander powder
- 1/3rd tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
- 1/4th tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4th tsp crushed red chilli powder (hot variety)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp mustard oil
For Curry:
- 1 tsp fenugreek leaves
- 1/4th tsp garam masala
- 1 medium sized tomato pureed
- 1/4th tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp kashmiri Red chilli powder
- 1/4th tsp crushed red chilli powder (hot variety)
- 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- 2 medium sized onions pureed
- 2 tbsp + 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Method:
- Make a paste of ginger, garlic, green chilli and mustard seeds
- Cut the bananas lengthwise into 3 equal strips. Mix the chilli, ginger, Garlic and mustard seeds in a blender to make a course paste. Add 1 tsp of this paste and all other marination Ingredients with the banana pieces, rub all Ingredients nicely to the banana pieces
- Pour 2 tsp mustard oil on the skillet and heat it till it smokes. Lower flame, place all pieces on the skillet, cover and cook on medium flame for 2-3 mins.
- Remove cover, turn around, cover and cook again so other side also gets cooked and becomes golden brown. Remove from flame.
- In a pan, pour 2 tbsp mustard oil, add onions, let them turn pink, add the remaining oil and masala from the fried banana. Cook till onions turn golden brown then add the remaining garlic ginger chilli mustard paste, cook till raw smell goes away.
- Now add tomatoes, cook till oil separates. Add all Dried spices, cook till oil separates, add 2 cups of water. Let it boil and then slip in fried banana strips. Let it boil then Crush and add fenugreek leaves.
- Cover and cook for 3-4 mins or till bananas are done. Remove from flame, Dish out and serve with boiled rice or Chapatis.
