OVEN BRAISED PULLED PORK

Baking time 2 hours plus 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 300 F.

  • 2 or 3 lb. pork shoulder or sirloin roast
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage leaves
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage leaves
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoons dried rosemary
  1. In a small bowl, combine sage, thyme, salt and rosemary. Rub mixture over the pork, pressing to adhere.
  2. In a large Dutch oven or large ovenproof skillet with tight-fitting lid over medium-high heat, warm canola oil. Add pork, browning all sides, 6 - 8 minutes. Transfer meat to a plate and set aside.
  3. Add the broth to the pan, scraping up any browning bits. Bring the broth to a boil, then transfer pork back to pan. Cover and bake until the pork is tender, 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  4. Let pork set for 15 minutes. Using two fork shred pork into bite size pieces. Moisten and season with cooking juices to taste.

Serve with your favorite BBQ sauce or not.

Enjoy your meal!
