How to make Chatpata Mutton Sukha || Dry Mutton Recipe

Mutton is not very regular in our daily diet. So whenever we get it, we try to do it little different each time. Mutton sukha is a delicious and mouth watering dish.Quick and easy to prepare with our regular ingredients. It is very succulent, coated with flavored Indian spices.This dish is served with Paratha/Chapati/Steamed rice.

Ingredients:

  • Mutton(Cut into cubes)- 350 gms
  • Sugar --1 tsp
  • Chopped green chillies - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Mutton stock - 3 cups
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder --1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Bay leaf-- 2
  • Finely chopped onion - 2 (medium)
  • Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Freshly grated coconut - 3 tbsp
  • Coconut milk- 1 cup ( freshly squeezed)
  • Refined oil - 3 tbsp
  • Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Heat the pan with 3 tbsp of oil.
  2. Then add chopped onions and 2 bay leaves. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  3. When the onion becomes traslucent,add 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
  4. Add mutton cubes and cook for few minutes.

Now add all dry masalas one by one:

  1. Salt to taste
  2. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  3. 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  4. 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  5. Mix all together for few minutes.
  6. Now add 1 tsp of chopped green chillies. Cover it and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
  7. Add 1/4th portion of mutton stock and cook for 15 minutes on low to medium flame.
  8. Now add rest of the mutton stock.Cover it and cook 35-40 minutes on low flame.
  9. After 40 minutes mutton is getting almost tender.
  10. At this point
  11. add 1 tsp of sugar
  12. 1 cup of fresh coconut milk.
  13. Again cover and cook for another 15 minutes on low flame.
  14. Add 3 tbsp of grated coconut and 1 tsp of garam masala powder.
  15. Mix well.
  16. Turn off the flame.
  17. Serve with chapati/ paratha/ steamed rice.
