STUFFING or DRESSING RECIPE

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Butter an 8" by 8 ", or 9" by 9" baking dish. Set aside!

  • 1/4-1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 4-1/2 to 5 cups stuffing mix, or dried bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1-3/4 cups chicken broth (may use low-sodium)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, optional
  1. In a 12" skillet, over medium-heat, add butter, onions, and celery. Cook vegetables 8-10 minutes, or until crisp-tender.
  2. Add breaded crumbs into a large bowl. Add cooked vegetables, black pepper, and chicken broth. Stir until all broth has absorbed.
  3. Pour evenly into prepare baking dish. Cover before baking.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes, uncovering for the last 15 minutes.

MAKE THE DAY BEFORE TIP: Prepare stuffing or dressing (as above) except do not bake. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking.
