Recipe DIY Cupcake Bath Bombs

DIY Cupcake Bath Bombs

I will now be doing 2 videos per week! A DIY/Craft/Lifestyle/Beauty video on a Thursday and a recipe video on a Friday.

I know this is a change in the direction of the channel but I hope you'll stick with me :)

Beautiful Bath Bombs - simple and easy

They make a great gift and they look good enough to eat (but don't!)

They'll fizz and bubble for around 5 minutes - remember to store them in a cool and dry place

►You will need:

  • Teaspoon colour
  • Baking cups
  • 1/4 cup citric acid
  • 1/2 cup bicarbonate of soda
  • 1-2 tablespoon oil (or witch hazel in a spray bottle)
  • Essential oil/scent/flavour

  • 1 teaspoon egg white powder/meringue powder
  • 2 cups icing sugar (125g/.4 oz)
  • Essential oil/scent/flavour
  • 2-3 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • Colouring

Piping bag:

  • Closed star tip

  1. Mix the bicarbonate and citric acid, add colour and mix well
  2. Add your scent - depending on strength, up to 1 teaspoon then add oil/witch hazel a little at a time until you reach the consistency of damp sand
  3. Press the mixture into your paper cups - ensure they're tightly packed
  4. To make the frosting, mix all the ingredients (you may not need all the water) in a stand mixer OR mix the ingredients slowly starting with icing sugar and mix until you reach a stiff but pipe-able consistency
  5. Place the frosting into a piping bag - pipe a single layer on the cupcake, then a second swirl so make it look like a cupcake
  6. Decorate whilst the frosting is wet
  7. Allow to dry for 48 hours

Enjoy your meal!
