Sweet Heart Cakes, Crafts and more
channel
I will now be doing 2 videos per week! A DIY/Craft/Lifestyle/Beauty video on a Thursday and a recipe video on a Friday.
I know this is a change in the direction of the channel but I hope you'll stick with me :)
Beautiful Bath Bombs - simple and easy
They make a great gift and they look good enough to eat (but don't!)
They'll fizz and bubble for around 5 minutes - remember to store them in a cool and dry place
►You will need:
Fizzy:
- Teaspoon colour
- Baking cups
- 1/4 cup citric acid
- 1/2 cup bicarbonate of soda
- 1-2 tablespoon oil (or witch hazel in a spray bottle)
- Essential oil/scent/flavour
Frosting:
- 1 teaspoon egg white powder/meringue powder
- 2 cups icing sugar (125g/.4 oz)
- Essential oil/scent/flavour
- 2-3 tablespoons water
- 0.5 teaspoons cream of tartar
- Colouring
Piping bag:
- Closed star tip
Method:
- Mix the bicarbonate and citric acid, add colour and mix well
- Add your scent - depending on strength, up to 1 teaspoon then add oil/witch hazel a little at a time until you reach the consistency of damp sand
- Press the mixture into your paper cups - ensure they're tightly packed
- To make the frosting, mix all the ingredients (you may not need all the water) in a stand mixer OR mix the ingredients slowly starting with icing sugar and mix until you reach a stiff but pipe-able consistency
- Place the frosting into a piping bag - pipe a single layer on the cupcake, then a second swirl so make it look like a cupcake
- Decorate whilst the frosting is wet
- Allow to dry for 48 hours
Enjoy your meal!
