Malpua is an indulgent dessert for all kinds of occasions across the country. These are small fried pancakes prepared with flour, sooji/selmolina, grated coconut and flavoured with cardamom and fennel seeds. These are then dipped in cardamom flavoured sugar syrup to make for juicy, fluffy and irresistble malpuas. Happy cooking for Janmashtami or any religious festival. Happy cooking!
Ingredients:
- Pinch of salt
- Crushed fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
- Grated coconut 3/4 th cup
- Sugar - 3 tbsp
- For the batter
- Maida - 2 cups
- Sooji/samolina - 1 cup
- Milk- 400 ml
- cardamom powder - 1 tsp
For sugar syrup:
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Slited cardamoms - 3-4
- Oil - 2 cups
