EGG-IN-A-HOLE - How to make FRIED EGGS and TOAST
An EGG-IN-A-HOLE is also known as..."TOAD-IN-A-HOLE", "EGG-IN-A-BASKET", "A-HOLE-IN-ONE", "POPEYE EGGS" and whatever else you'd like to call this one skillet dish!! - Toast, your choice
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Butter both side of bread. Using a 3-inch round cookie-cut make a hole in the center of each slice of buttered bread.
- In a 12-inch skillet, over medium-low heat, add bread and center bread ring. You will hear a low sizzle. Add a small amount of butter to the center of bread. Crack egg open and add in the center of bread. Salt and Pepper to taste. Cook two (2) minutes or until bread is golden. Flip and cook for an additional minute.
- Remove fried egg and bread to serving dish. Eat right away!!
