Today I take you to France, the land of love, good food and great authors. Authors ?! Yes exactly. Literary France has a lot to offer. Who does not know “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry or “In 80 Days Around the World” by Jules Vernes?

But why do I tell all this? Quite simply – the book fair in Frankfurt will start soon (11.-15.10.2017) and this year's host country is France.

Ramona from the literature blog Eltragalibros and (again) Ramona from the literature blog quill asked me if I would like to participate in the blog parade “A Journey to France” to increase the anticipation of the fair and the literary treats. I like being there. 🙂

Since there are a lot of delicious ones in France, I did not find the selection easy. You know, I like fast, uncomplicated dishes, so Flammkuchen came quickly to the shortlist.

Here I have a recipe for a Flammkuchenteig for you, you just stir together, roll out and prove to your heart's content.

Pumpkin is back on our menu in autumn of course. It is also really easy to use for a tarte flambée. It is important that you use a Hokkaido pumpkin. This is pretty much the only pumpkin you can eat the bowl with. For the other pumpkin varieties, you must first cut off the shell.

To cut the pumpkin so thin, I used the long blade on my four-wheel drive. That was easy and Ratz-Fatz.

The only ingredient I cheated on was feta – it's not really French, but it's great with pumpkin, honey and rosemary.

If you want to try the classic twist, then just use goat cheese instead of feta cheese.
