Awadhi style based special Kolkata Murgh Biryani- a feast for the eyes, senses and fit for a king. Can now be made @ home without sacrificing on the shahi-yana or the royal touch. Aromatic biryani basmati rice along with tender chicken pieces, soft and succulent alu or potatoes and a boiled egg complete the palette. Ingredients like rice, chicken and potatoes are semi-cooked separately using shahi masalas- delicate and fragrant. The final assembly consists of the layering process and then put on dum or steamed till it is cooked to perfection. This represents Hungry Tummy's best in home-made Biryani- better than most restaurants. A must-try @ home during this festive ocassion. Happy cooking!

  • Khoya kheer - 25 gms
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Cinamon sticks - 1 inch
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Yellow food colour - 7-8 drops
  • Mitha atar - 2 drops
  • Thinly sliced onion - 2 large
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Saffron - pinch of
  • Potatoes (Cut into halves)- 4 pcs
  • Biryani special basmati rice - 800 gms
  • Chicken - 1 kg
  • Bay leaves - 2
  • Cloves - 6-7 pcs
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp
  • Star anies - 2
  • yogurt - 4-5 tbsp
  • Kewra water - 2 tbsp
  • Rose water - 1 tbsp
  • Biryani masala - 2 tbsp
  • Refined oil - 3/4 th cup
  • Salt as per taste
  • Cardamoms - 3-4 pcs
