INGREDIENT:
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
- 2 tsp red chilli powder(you can adjust heat according to your taste)
- wooden skewers
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- 1 kg Chicken breast or thighs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup yogurt
For the gravy:
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp garlic
- 1 cup cream(I used heavy whipping cream)
- red food color(optional)
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 large onion
- salt to taste
PREPARATION:
- Preheat oven to 500F/260c
- Cut the chicken into bite size chunks,combine the chicken with the rest of the marinate ingredients in a bowl.Mix until evenly coated,refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Skewer the marinated chicken on skewers,then place them into over a baking dish.Bake them for 20 mins until slightly dark brown on the edges(I turned on the broil setting as well for 5 mins to give it a good color)you can grill this chicken or even can saute in a pan if you don't have an oven.
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat,then saute the onions until golden in color,add ginger and garlic
- Fry the spices for about 30 seconds to release their aroma,stirring constantly(you can use little water as well to avoid spices burning)add tomato puree and tomato sauce and fry,then add cream and food color mix well.gradually add water for desired consistency gravy.when water boils add the baked chicken and mix.
