Fox Nut Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 crushed almonds
  • 2 pistachios split into two halves
  • 5 cups milk
  • 1 tsp green cardamom seeds (crushed), or green cardamom powder
  • 4-5 tbsp jaggery powder/ sugar, or honey
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 8-10 crushed pistachios
  • 100gms soft white Makhanas
  • 2 almonds split into two halves each

Method:

  1. Cut makhanas into halves. Heat green a pan and fry makhanas over a low heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Boil milk and put it on low flame. Add Makhana and eave to simmer for about 30 mins or so, until milk reduces to half and of a creamy consistency. During this period stir from time to time so that milk does not sticks to the bottom of pan.
  3. Now add almonds and pistachios and leave for further 10 minutes. Sprinkle crushed cardamom/ cardamom powder.
  4. Turn off flame, Dish out and serve the makhana kheer hot or cold, as desired.
