HONEY BUN CAKE
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Spray or grease & flour a 10" by 15" baking pan, set aside
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (15 oz) box yellow cake mix
- 1/3 cup water
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
FILLING:
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup light packed brown sugar
GLAZE TOPPING:
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1-1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk, approx.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a large mixing bowl. Add box cake mix, oil, water, eggs, and sour cream. Using hand mixer, beat on medium-high speed for 3 minutes. Scraping down sides of bowl.
- In a medium bowl add brown sugar and cinnamon. Whisk together until well blended.
- Pour half the cake batter into prepared baking pan. Evenly sprinkle brown sugar & cinnamon mixture on top. Evenly spread remaining cake batter on top.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
- Ten minutes before removing cake from oven, make glaze topping. In a small mixing bowl add confectioner's sugar, vanilla and milk. Whisk until smooth.
- While cake is hot, add glaze topping and spread evening with a spatula or back of spoon.
