DUTCH APPLE PIE | How to make APPLE PIE Recipe | Demonstration

Mini DUTCH APPLE PIES

Make 4 - 4" Mini Pies or 1 - 9" Pie

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, optional
  • 5 cups Granny Smith Apples (about 4 medium size apples) peeled, cored & thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar

TOPPING:

  • 3/4 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup chilled butter, cubed
  1. Prepare pie pans with your homemade pie crust (store bought pie crust maybe used). Set aside on cookie sheet with sides.
  2. In a large mixing bowl; whisk together 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, & salt. Add sliced apple. Toss well until apples are coated evenly with sugar mixture.
  3. Divide coated sliced apples into the 4 prepared dough lined pie pans.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl; add self-rising flour, sugar, and cubed chilled butter. Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles the texture of cornmeal. Evenly add to the tops of each apple pie.
  5. Bake in a preheat 450 degrees F oven for the first 10 minutes. After 10 minutes... reduce heat to 350 degrees F. and bake an additional 40-45 minute or until slightly bubbles around edges.
  6. Cool on rack for 1-4 hours before serving.

TIPS: Store pies/pie in an airtight container, in refrigerator, up to 3 days.
