Ingredients:

  • Oil to fry
  • 12 bread pieces

For filling:

  • 3 medium potatoes washed, Peeled and mashed
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp crushed ginger garlic
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric power
  • 1/2 tsp roasted Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp kashmiri Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 Cup shelled peas boiled
  • 1 large onion sliced

Method:

Filling:

  1. Heat oil in a wok, drop in onion. Add crushed ginger garlic once onion become translucent. Cook till this is browned. Add all spices and cook with a tsp of water till spices are nicely mixed. The water is added to avoid burning. Add boiled Peas and mashed potatoes. Mix well, cook for 2-3 mins on low flame so spices get mixed nicely with potatoes. Remove and let it cool

Kachori:

  1. While the filling is Cooling down, cut large rings of bread pieces with the help of a cookie cutter, jar cover, etc, what ever is the right size, and available.
  2. Make 6 equal balls of the filling.
  3. Apply water with a brush to two rings, place a filling ball on one, and place the other ring so Wet side is towards the ball. Sorry shape into a Patty and make sure the Kachori is nicely sealed.
  4. Deep fry till both sides are brown, and serve with green chutney, tamarind chutney or sauce.
