Macher matha diye pui saag or pui sag/malabar spinach with fish head is an exquisite, traditional and authentivc Bengali saag dish that is an all time favourite. Pui saag cooked with seasonal veggies, aromatic spices and mixed with broken fish head pieces to form a mushy broth. Exotic is flavours, this goes well with a combination of steamed rice and masoor/moong dal. I am sure you will drool over this once you try it!
Ingredients:
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Potato (diced)- 2 medium
- Ridge gourd - 1 medium size
- turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Pumpkin (diced)- 150 gms
- chopped green chillies - 1 tsp
- Mustard oil 4-5 tbsp
- Pui saag - 1 bunch
- Rahu fish head - 1 medium size (quarter)
- Salt as per taste
- Panch Phoron - 1 tsp
