Fish/Macher chop is a tasty snack, starter and can also be had as an alternative to the daily Bengali fish curry. The fish patty is made with rohu/katla fish- the daily staple fish for Bengalis and mashed potatoes and flavoured with Bengali spices. Ingredients:

  • Chopped ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Chopped onion - 1 large
  • Grated Boiled Potato - 1 medium size
  • Garam masala powder - 1/4 th tsp
  • Breadcrumbs - 150 gms
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Rui/Katla fish pieces - 300 gms
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 3-4 tbsp
  • Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Maida- 2 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 th tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 th tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chooped garlic - 1 tbsp
  • chopped green chillies - 1 tbsp
  • Refined oil - 3/4 th cup
