Thukpa is a soupy noodle concoction originating from the Tibetian highlands and popular in Nepal, Terai Bengal, Sikkim and Assam. This is a hot, refreshing soup which is best had during chilly winter evenings. Various vegetables and chicken, pork and other meats are used in the soup with various sauces and seasonings.

Ingredients:

  • Tomato ketchup - 1 tbsp
  • Spring onion greens - 2 tbsp
  • Boiled noodles - 150 gms
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 th tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4 th tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Carrot - 1 small bowl
  • Chopped cabbage - 1 small bowl
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
  • Chopped onion - 1 medium
  • Minced garlic - 1 tbsp
  • Sugar/ honey - 1 tsp
  • Vinegar - 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 ths tsp
  • Spring onion white - 2 tbsp
  • Grated ginger - 1 tsp
  • Capsicum - 1 small bowl
  • Boneless chicken - 250 gms
  • Soya sauce - 2 tsp
  • Chopped tomato - 1 small bowl
