ZOMBIE CANDY CORN POPCORN BALLS:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 10 cup air popped pop corn or natural microwave popcorn
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter (4 Tablespoons)
  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. Add popped popcorn to a large cookie sheet or foil pan and keep warm in oven until ready to use.
  2. In a 2-quart sauce pan, oven medium-heat, add butter, sugar, water, and salt. Stir mixture until it begins to boil. Stop stirring and continue cooking for 9-10 minutes or until candy thermometer temperature reaches 270*F. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir until just blended.
  3. Immediately, remove warm popcorn from oven and slowly pour hot sugar mixture oven popcorn, stirring with rubber spatula until every kernel is coated (about 2-3 minutes). Add candy corn.
  4. Lightly butter hands. Using 1/3 cup of coated popcorn (about the size of a tennis ball)...shape into popcorn balls while adding candy corn. Place on cookie sheet to cool for 15 minutes.

Makes 8-10 Popcorn Balls

Store in an airtight container up to 4 day.
