Edible CHRISTMAS CORNFLAKE WREATHS have been making the Holidays festive for decades!! Simple and easy to make!! A perfect homemade Christmas treat!! Recipe below...
CHRISTMAS CORNFLAKE WREATHS
- Small red candy balls like mini M&Ms, red hot, or edible pearl candies
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup butter, salted or unsalted
- Candy Shred white decorating candies, optional
- Green food coloring
- 40 regular marshmallows or 4 cups (10-ounces) miniature marshmallows
- 5 cups unsweetened cornflake cereal
- In a 3-quart skillet or sauce pan, over medium-heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows are melted and smooth. Whisk in vanilla. Remove from heat.
- Add 4-10 drops of green food coloring. Depending on lightness or darkness of desired color. Whisk until well blended.
- Add cornflakes. Stir with spoon until cornflakes are well coated.
- On lined parchment paper or lightly buttered cookie sheet shape wreath(s) into desired size. Decorate with red candy ball (mini M&Ms, red hots, or candy pearls) and white chocolate candy shreds, optional.
- Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes or until firm.
TIPS: Separate CORNFLAKE WREATHS with parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking together. Store in an airtight container up to 5 days at room temperature or refrigerator, if in warm climate.
