4TH of JULY "CHERRY BOMB" Rice Crispy Treats:

1- 2.5 oz Twizzlers, cherry favor, Pull n' Peel candy, cut 1" long then peel apart

    • 24 Sour Cherry Balls
    • 1/2 package (10 oz., about 20) regular marshmallows
    • 3 cups Rice Cereal
    • 1/2 teaspoon of water
    • 2 Tablespoons powder sugar
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • Sprinkles, muti-color
    1. In very small mixing bowl add powder sugar and enough water to make a thick past. Set aside.
    2. In another very small bowl add muti-color sprinkles. Set aside with powder sugar paste.
    3. In medium pan, over low heat, melt butter and marshmallows together. Add rice cereal and stir until butter, marshmallows and rice cereal are well combine. Pour out of pan onto buttered surface.
    4. Working quickly, with butttered hands, form a tablespoon or so of the rice cereal mixture around each sour cherry ball with 1 twizzler candy attached while shaping into a ball. Be sure to leave 1/2 inch of the twizzle visiable. The twizzle is a fuse to the "Cherry Bomb" Rice Crispy Treat.
    5. Place each into a mini-muffin pan and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes.
    6. Finishing touches to the edible "Cherry Bomb". Dip the tip of the twizzler into the prepared powder sugar and immediately roll in muti-colored sprinkles.
    7. Stores in airtight container up to 4 days. May also be refrigerated.
