Last week, as I was the recipe of the stuffed pizza rolls ‘ve presented, I have already told a little of the school, in celebration of my little man. What I withheld from you so far is what we have eaten everything.

In Enddefekt I was very pleased with the Buffet. The onion cake, noodle and herb salad I prepared the day before. The Hot Dog buns were baked a few weeks previously, and then apply grease to the rust. So I had to do for the actual Event so much.

Now I’ll tell you the recipe for this delicious onion tart. For onion pie you prepare a simple yeast dough. This is topped with sauteed onions, bacon, and an egg-cream mixture and cheese. Very simple, but very tasty.

As mentioned, I prepared the onion tart the day before, and then to celebrate again in the oven warmed up. This has worked wonderfully. The onion cake was still very tasty.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 450 g flour
  • 1/2 Cube of fresh yeast
  • 220 ml of water
  • 1 TSP sugar
  • 50 g soft Butter
  • 1 TSP salt

For the topping:

  • approx. 800 g onions
  • 2 TBSP Oil
  • 300 g bacon
  • 3 Eggs
  • 200 ml cream
  • 250 g favorite cheese, such as Emmental or Gouda
  • 1/4 TSP nutmeg
  • Pepper and salt

Preparation

  1. Crumble the yeast and dissolve in 220 ml of lukewarm water. Stir in the sugar and all mixed whisk well with a whisk. The mixture is let for a moment.
  2. While you weigh the flour and Butter and add a tablespoon of salt.
  3. Mixed the yeast mixture with the flour mixture and knead everything well. This works Best with a food processor, but you can also use your arm strength.
  4. Cover the dough with a tea towel and leave in a warm place for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  6. Peel the onions and cut them into thin slices. Using a very sharp large knife, or if you have a Spiralizer.
  7. Heat the Oil in a large skillet and sautéed the onions for about 10 minutes at medium temperature-nice and soft. Don’t forget to stir.
  8. Then the bacon cubes and let everything saute again for about 5 minutes.
  9. Mixed the eggs with the cream and spice the mixture with salt (sparingly, as the bacon is salty), pepper and nutmeg. Stirred whisk the mixture well with a whisk and mixed it with the onion-bacon-bulk.
  10. Place a baking paper. (Tip: With a bit of water on the work surface, you can the paper a little fix.) Spread some flour on the parchment paper and the rolling pin. Give the dough on the baking paper and roll out the dough. Then you pull the baking paper with the dough carefully onto a deep baking sheet and press the edges of the dough to the top.
  11. Spread the onion mass on the dough.
  12. Rubs the cheese and spread it on the onions.
  13. Bake the onion tart for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees top and bottom heat.
