Delicious basic recipe for waffles – quick recipes from my kitchen
The life of a food blogger is sometimes not that easy. I was once again for something sweet for the blog. So last week I tested some new recipes and somehow none worked. 🙈
The supposedly super juicy brownie cookies were ok from the taste, but not a sensation and dry terribly in consistency. They fell with timpani and trumpets through our quality test. 🙉
And how was that Shortbread with cranberries and orange? I love shortbread, the wonderfully buttery taste is a dream. Cranberries and orange are a great match. So I used a regular shortbread recipe and raised orange zest and cranberries. The taste of this shortbread was really good too. Only the result was so crumbly that the shortbread has collapsed into itself. 🙊
So I have some wonderful-tasting shortbread cumin next to awesome-looking brownie cookies that do not taste good in my kitchen and wonder what to do with it.
Simple waffles – my salvation
So this week we're going back to something well-tried – this simple waffle recipe.
This waffle recipe is really great. It's super easy. You do not have to whip up some egg whites or fold in anything carefully. The ingredients are simply mixed in succession. This is possible in any case.
The waffles are wonderfully crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Just to be a waffle.
If you can not make all the waffles at once, then you can just put them in the oven or toaster the next day. then they taste like freshly made.
Also to freeze up waffles are wonderful. Depending on the waffle hunger, you just pick up one or two waffles from the cooler to warm them up. Already the waffle enjoyment nothing stands in the way.
Do you still remember the opening sentence: “Life of a food blogger is sometimes not that easy? “ Yes, exactly, because my story is not over yet.
For the waffles I have conjured up a quick cherry compote, which you unfortunately can not see on the pictures. When I wanted to take pictures of the waffles, it simply disappeared. I cleared the fridge 5 times. Way it was.
So I had to improvise for the shoot and there was no cherry compote but raspberry jam and cream. By the way, it also tastes delicious.
Later it turned out that Maik took the tin with the cherries, in the mistaken assumption that there was tomato sauce for his lunch – yes, that is sometimes …

PS: And if you're wondering why I did not get a picture of the ingredients this time around: The last egg I had left in the fridge, of course, I dropped when I prepared everything for the photo shoot … Next time everything will be back better. Most certainly.
